Marking over two years at PLDT and Smart in the Philippines as Group Head for Corporate Communications, Cathy has led her team to mount a compelling change story for her group. Spearheading the pivot, Cathy initiated organizing two separate teams into one converged model, leveraging on their capabilities and expertise, propagating a unified narrative for the country’s largest integrated telco service. Demonstrating leadership, Cathy inspired her team to try new ways of working that would position them to exceed overall Group targets. Beyond the corporate world, Cathy is a multi-awarded, international broadcast journalist specializing in global financial markets and economies. Her 15 year stint overseas include postings in Tokyo and Hong Kong, serving the roles of anchor and reporter at Bloomberg TV Asia-Pacific, Reuters TV Asia Pacific and CCTV English (now CGTN). She is a four-time winner of the Asian TV Awards and the first Filipino journalist to win Best News or Current Affairs Presenter/Anchor at the 2019 Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA). She has since served as AACA Juror over the past two years. She is currently Chairperson of the 2022 National Public Relations Congress, Vice-President- External and Board of Trustees of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (2022-23).
