CHRISTINE FELLOWES
NBCU Managing Director Networks, Asia Pacific.

Christine manages NBCUniversal International Networks’ businesses including Pay-TV services, broadcast tv, digital video on demand services, apps, websites, mobile and social platforms in markets that extend across 30 counties in the Asia Pacific from Australia to China, from India to Japan.

Her remit includes full oversight of all commercial aspects of the operations, driving business performance in an increasingly dynamic Asia-Pacific media environment for entertainment brands including Universal TV, E! Entertainment, The Dreamworks Channel, Syfy and Bravo.

In her role as Managing Director, Fellowes has led the development of streaming-video-on-demand (SVOD) entertainment and digital publishing services, a free-to-air network and an original content production slate.

Aside from a few years in Europe and South Africa Patrick has worked across Asia in the Media industry since 1995. Previously as CEO of FremantleMedia Asia, Patrick launched some of the world’s largest media brands throughout Asia including ‘Idols’, ‘Got Talent’ and ‘X Factor’. With a recent focus on the genre of Art & Design Patrick is telling art and design related stories via the production and sharing of short-form digital video content and art searches.

Jamie Turner is Director of Brand, Franchise and Marketing for WarnerMedia’s
Kids content in Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for developing strategic long-term business plans to grow and support a portfolio of brands. His remit includes Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Adult Swim, in addition to world-renowned franchises
such as Ben 10, We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls and Rick and Morty, as well as supporting WarnerMedia’s Chinese IP – Tuzki.

Jamie has over two decades’ experience and expertise in the entertainment industry, the last 10 years working in Asia, in media distribution and brand management roles. His career includes spells at Sony, NBC Universal and, prior to WarnerMedia, he led brand and franchise strategy at The Walt Disney Company.

Dennis has designed and built solutions for broadcasters, universities, governments and corporate institutions.

He understands each project should cater to customer’s individual workflow, production style and requirements to fulfil their creative vision. Dennis is not only technical but also creative, including producer for Myanmar SEA Games Opening and Closing Ceremony

Ian McKee is the CEO of Vuulr, the online global Film & TV content marketplace. Vuulr works with Hollywood-supported standards, helping the industry digitally transform and enable content to be licensed in days vs the current norm of 3 – 6 months. Ian has more than 20 years’ experience in the field of technology, digital marketing and disruptive
innovations under his belt.

Prior to Vuulr, he founded and grew Vocanic to become the largest social media technology agency in Southeast Asia. Vocanic was acquired by the WPP Group in 2013.

(IMDA).

Howie Lau is the Chief Industry Development Officer at Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). He has more than 25 years of experience managing P&L, corporate development and marketing across many territories in Lenovo and IBM. He serves as the Immediate Past President of Singapore Computer Society and the Governing Council for Singapore Institute of Directors. Howie sits on the board for NUS Institute of Systems Science and Singapore Science Centre.

VIVIAN YIN
Asian Academy Creative Awards Ambassador, China

Experience executive producer in the international and also a general board member of format protection body, FRAPA; and member of the Advisory Board of NATPE, the largest market of global content in North America.

Yin is the winner of the distinguished Chinese Starlight TV Awards and the “Golden Eagle Awards”. In 2014 and 2015, Hollywood Reporter nominated Yin as one of “the world’s most powerful women in the TV industry”. She also serves on the Jury of Spike Asia 2018.

SAHANA KAMATH
Head, Original Productions – Viu

Sahana Kamath is a British Indian executive producer and senior television executive. After a decade’s stint at the international production division of Sony Pictures Television overseeing scripted series for the studio from Los Angeles and London, she served as Ideate Media’s Vice President, Development in Kuala Lumpur.

She has since held positions at Discovery as Head, Content Development and Head, Scripted for South Asia, and is now at Viu – heading up Original Production across Malaysia and Indonesia.

Ronald Loke has held various positions the past 30 years in both multinational and local insurance companies as well as in insurance broking firms. He is currently Director, Media & Entertainment at Arthur J Gallagher. Founded by Arthur Gallagher in Chicago in 1927, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co has grown to become one of the largest insurance brokerage and risk management companies in the world.

With significant reach internationally, the group employs over 20,000 people and its global network provides services in more than 140 countries. Arthur Gallagher is also one of the largest media insurance brokers in the world.

MANSHA DASWANI
Editor & Associate Publisher, World Screen

Mansha Daswani is the editor of World Screen, with day-to-day responsibility for its English-language print and online publications—including managing the production of its two biggest issues of the year, for MIPTV and MIPCOM—overseeing our series of premium special reports on the world’s top broadcasters and platforms and leading all coverage of the Asia-Pacific region. As associate publisher she assists in crafting World Screen‘s overall strategic directives and marketing initiatives.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Mansha came to World Screen after working at Cable and Satellite Asia and Television Asia and contributing to a broad range of entertainment publications across Asia. She has a BA from Mount Holyoke College and an MA in journalism from New York University. She has been with World Screen since 2002, starting
as associate editor before being named managing editor and then executive editor. She was named editor in May 2015.

JENNIFER BATTY
Chief Content Officer, HOOQ Digital Pte Ltd

Jennifer Batty is the Chief Content Officer of HOOQ, Southeast Asia’s leading OTT service. She leads HOOQ’s local, regional and Hollywood content acquisition, programming, viewership and engagement strategies and drives original productions across their diverse markets.

Prior to HOOQ, she was Executive Vice President at RTL CBS Asia, where she made significant contributions in RTL Group’s expansion into India and its joint venture with CBS Studios International, launching RTL CBS Entertainment and RTL CBS Extreme.

Jennifer has a career that spans two decades across North America, Asia and Europe. She holds an MBA from the University of New South Wales.

NAMAN RAMACHANDRAN
South Asia Correspondent

Variety Naman Ramachandran is the South Asia Correspondent for Variety, a film critic with Sight & Sound, and a world cinema columnist for The Hindu. He wrote and co- produced the first Netflix Asia Original Brahman Naman. His work as an author includes Rajinikanth: The Definitive Biography (Penguin) and Lights, Camera, Masala: Making Movies In Mumbai (IBH).

Naman programs the London Indian Film Festival, is on the advisory board of the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and is a trustee of the Satyajit Ray Foundation. He is a BAFTA member.

KAZFUMI NAGASAWA
Chief Content Officer, Hulu Japan

Kazufumi Nagasawa is chief content officer and member of the board of directors at HJ Holdings, which owns and operates Hulu branded SVOD service in Japan. He oversees all content and marketing activities for the service, including content acquisition and production of original series as well as online and offline marketing for customer acquisition and retention. He also plays a leading role in strategic planning and managing partnerships.

He joined Hulu Japan as the head of content and distribution in May 2011 before the service launched as the first pure SVOD platform in Japan, and has been the driving
force for the company to establish key partnerships with both content and device partners. He played a material role in the transition of the ownership of the company from Hulu LLC to Nippon TV in 2014.

Comedian, South East Asia

Kavin Jay is one of South East Asia’s most sought-after comedians; an integral part of the comedy revolution in Malaysia, he’s a rapid-fire, grumpy, joke telling machine. He may be grouchy but does it with panache that you can’t help but laugh.

His intense sense of humor has tickled ribs and charmed audiences of all shapes and backgrounds. A travelling comic as well Kavin has performed in Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Australia, United Kingdom
just to name a few!

Sarah Macdonald

Founder/Director MAKE Waves Ltd

New Zealand born, London-based, Sarah Macdonald has forged a prestigious career in television and film production that includes winning a BAFTA award (New Director) for an undercover investigation into child abuse in Liverpool for the BBC.

In 2012, Sarah partnered with former Newsnight Editor and BBC World News CEO, Sian Kevill, to form MAKE Waves, a company that is unashamedly focused on both Asia and Europe – one of very few truly ‘East Meets West’ indies with a firm foot in both regions.

Natasha Malhotra

CCO Vuulr

Natasha joins Vuulr from Disney SEA, where she was VP/GM of Disney channels and Branded Media and Content, where she also worked across the various business verticals on localization of content, music and events.

Prior to this she oversaw the Disney Channel business in India. Previous to Disney she spent over 11 years with Viacom, in India and MTVN APAC, and later with the Arab Media Group as COO for MTV and Nick Arabia.
