Sara Merican is a film journalist and critic from Singapore. She has written features and reviews for Sight and Sound, The Hollywood Reporter, Forbes.com, The Telegraph, NME and ContentAsia. She is an international voter for the Golden Globes (2023, 2024) and a member of FIPRESCI. Previously, she worked as a programmer for the Singapore International Film Festival. She has served on the critics’ jury at the Venice Film Festival 2022 as well as on the selection committees for Singapore’s National Youth Film Awards, U.A.E.’s Sharjah Film Platform.
