Rowena is a Singapore-based Director and Producer. She started in television as an Assistant Director, eventually progressing to producing and directing for TV. With a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Producing from Chapman University (2014), she has worked on internationally broadcasted programmes. Rowena is bilingual in English and Chinese and adeptly thrives in diverse cultural settings.

Trained as an Assistant Producer at MediaCorp, Rowena later freelanced as an Assistant Director and Production Manager, developing her skills in producing and production management. She made her directorial debut after joining Ochre Pictures, with the award-winning series “Lion Mums” created by Jean Yeo.

As a Showrunner Director at Ochre Pictures, Rowena expands her directing and producing skills across various genres. Her notable television works encompass three seasons of “Lion Mums,” five episodes of the award-winning mystery drama “Last Madame,” and seven episodes of the crime series “Mind Jumper,” all of them received recognition at the Asian Academy Creative Awards. Rowena also produced & directed the thrilling series “Silent Walls” and a pilot episode of “Justice Boo,” an investigative fantasy romance.

Rowena is known for her nuanced approach to actors’ performances and creating emotional connections with audiences. She advocates strongly for more female representation in the industry and strives to inspire the next generation of female filmmakers. Through her impactful storytelling, she aims to entertain and initiate meaningful conversations.
