Astro wins big at the 2018 Asian Academy Creative Awards

Astro bags 21 out of 49 award categories at the inaugural award ceremony

Astro is honoured to put Malaysia on the global map yet again with the recent national wins awarded by the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA’s) announced at MIPCOM in Cannes, France on 15 October 2018.

Highlights of the awards include:

Malaysia Memilih (9 & 10 May) by Astro Awani for Best News Programme and Kamarul Bahrin Haron for Best News/Current Affairs Presenter;
Pray For – The Black and White Deity 大二爷伯信仰 by Astro AEC for Best Documentary Series;
Anwar Idris – Luar Biasa by Astro Citra for Best Original Screenplay;
Meja Bulat Sepahtu by Astro Prima for Best General Entertainment Programme;
Nabil Ahmad – Gegar Vaganza by Astro Ria for Best Entertainment Presenter/Host;
Hua Hee Seko-lah S4 by Astro Hua Hee Dai for Best Comedy Programme;
Hua Hee Champion 2017 Grand Final by Astro Hua Hee Dai for Best Music/Dance Programme.

Astro took home 21 of the National Awards from 49 categories in this year’s inaugural event. Astro will represent Malaysia in these categories, and will compete with 15 other countries at the Gala Finals in Singapore on 6 & 7 December 2018 for the coveted AAA golden trophy.

The Asian Academy Creative Awards has been established to serve and honour the creative industries as the pinnacle of their achievement in content creation and media production. The AAA`s celebrates excellence in craft and technical disciplines across multiple platforms including television, digital, streaming and emerging technologies from various countries around the world.
