Asian Academy Creative Awards UpdateLatest NewsPress Releases

SINGAPORE MARCH 21, 2023: Organizers of the Asian Academy Creative Awards today announced the formal establishment of an over-arching industry body to serve the Asia-Pacific content industry.

“Today we announce the formalization of the Asian Academy of Creative Arts, a not-for-profit industry organization that will oversee the management of the Asian Academy Creative Awards, the respected Academy Campus training programmes, upcoming membership programmes, networking events and services” said CEO Fiona McKay.

The Asian Academy of Creative Arts (AACA) is being established to represent and promote Asia-Pacific content and creatives in a similar manner to prestigious international industry bodies in the USA and UK.

In doing so AACA aims to encourage greater industry participation, a more collaborative platform from which to promote and develop the region’s content and skills.

“Our 2023 Asian Academy Creative Awards are now open for entries and will be staged in Singapore in December and our Academy Campus Producers Summits and MasterClasses will be staged mid-year” confirmed Fiona. Warner Bros Discovery exec Clement Schwebig was recently appointed to the honorary position of Chairman of Awards.

For Emmy-winning founder of the Asian Academy, Michael McKay, today’s announcement is a proud milestone “it was always set up as a true Academy, a legacy platform of excellence for our industry and those who have forged a career within it”.

“We rely on industry support from outstanding organisations such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Elevate Broadcast, The Walt Disney Company, Motion Picture Association, Reality Rentals, Baker McKenzie and our official insurers Gallagher” Michael said, before adding “and everyone who enters, buys a ticket to our events or qualifies as a member can know that they have done their bit to support their very own Academy”.
