Hyun is a seasoned international media executive and television producer with a career spanning 25 years across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Hyun Park is CEO of Alquimista Media, a Seoul/LA based production company focusing on premium, collaborative scripted film and television. Alquimista’s core mission and strength is to mix and match different international pieces of the content creation puzzle (IP, directors, writers, actors and producers) to create unexpected yet highly relevant series and films for local, regional and global audiences. Prior to Alquimista, Hyun was Head for the Global Division at Studio Dragon, CJ ENM’s scripted television subsidiary. He spearheaded the studio’s global content and business strategy and launched its US subsidiaries. During his tenure there, Hyun developed a diverse slate of English and Korean language productions and co-productions tailored to networks in the US as well as Asia. He is an executive producer for seasons 1 and 2 of Apple TV+’s The Big Door Prize, the first US scripted television series where a Korean studio acts as co-producer and co-studio. Prior to joining Studio Dragon, Hyun Park co-headed Warner Bros. Korea’s Local TV Production Division, where he developed and launched the company’s Korean television scripted slate for the Asian territory. His passion for Korean content started when he co-founded and was VP of NY-based DramaFever, at the time the largest OTT platform for subtitled Korean and Asian scripted series for the US and Latin America. He oversaw content strategy, acquisitions and investments. DramaFever was acquired by Softbank Japan and later sold to Warner Bros. Television. Hyun has over 15 years of media corporate development and M&A experience in the Americas and Europe, through his years at Spain’s Grupo PRISA and Morgan Stanley. Hyun holds a BA in Economics and B.A. in East Asian Studies from Yale University. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and Korean.
