THE STARS ALIGN FOR AAA RED CARPET

The Asian Academy Creative Awards’ Red Carpet promises to be a dazzling affair as Singapore’s historic Capitol Theatre plays host to a star studded line-up of the most brilliant actors, actresses and presenters from across 16 countries in the Asia-Pac region. All will be vying for top honours at the inaugural Awards.

Singapore’s Oon Shu An, leading Indonesian actress Adinia Wirasti and Taiwan's Pei-jia Huang will all be competing for the coveted "Best Actress in A Leading Role" as will Maja Salvador (Philippines) and Lisa Surihani from Malaysia. Surihani is expected to be joined by husband Yusry Abdul Halin of KRU fame. Last reports were that Miss Sherlock star Yuko Takeuchi is also trying to jet in, if shooting schedules permit (so we’ll need to watch this space).

Poppy Sovia, (Indonesia’s The Publicist) and Candy Yang (Taiwan's Rozeki) vying for the "Best Supporting Actress" awards, as is Singapore’s emerging star Christina Kydoniefs for her role in Tanglin.

Michael Kho (Indonesia) is up for "Best Actor In A Supporting Role (for his performance as Arik in Kenapa Harus Bule?) along with Taiwan’s Chia-Kuei Chen for the much-fancied Roseki.

The Asian Academy Creative Awards will be hosted by Hong Kong born, US-based Oli Pettigrew. Pettigrew will be supported by a virtual airlift of presenters from around the region, including Malaysian star Aaron Aziz, CNN’s Kristie Lu Stout, Thailand host and radio star PK Kemptech and actress Aerin Yuktadatta. Former iInternational supermodel, Rachel Hunter is up for "Best Lifestyle Host" and is rumored to be coming to Singapore for the Awards.

Song Luan and Kha Ngan, stars of Descendants of the Sun, are flying in and promise to light up the red carpet as the current darlings of Vietnam. Thailand’s flamboyant Piyarat Kalijareuk will represent The Face Men (non-scripted). Taiwan’s Happy To Share is up for "Best General Entertainment", represented by host Ya Li Chang.

Crazy Rich Asians Constance Lau will be joined by "Best Comedy Performance" contender Jeremy Chan, comedian Fakkah Fuzz, MTV VJ Hanli Hoefer, “the voice of the AAA’s" Paula Malai Ali along with actress and influential talent agent Irene Ang.

Other celebs set to feature at the prestigious Awards include E! News Asia’s Yvette King and Indonesian twins Maria and Elizabeth Rahajeng, actress/host Munah Bagharib.

Singaporean broadcaster Mediacorp will be out in strength with Edible Wild Host Nithiya Laila (up for "Best Lifestyle Presenter"), "Best Actor" contender Paneeirchelvan, the acclaimed Quan Yi Fong ("Best Entertainment Presenter/Host").

Negotiations are under way to have Cartoon Network favourites We Bare Bears jet in from San Francisco for a special appearance, “although Ice Bear is proving a tough negotiator” hinted AAA host Oli Pettigrew.

Wearnes has come on board as the Official Prestige Automotive Partner to the Asian Academy Creative Awards, ensuring the AAA’s stars will arrive in fine style with Aston Martin, Bentley and Jaguar known to be part of Wearnes’ stable.

FAN EXPERIENCE TICKET

Fans also get the chance to strut their stuff on the illustrious red carpet. The AAA has released a limited number of “Fan Experience” tickets that allow access to the Red Carpet from 5pm; an opportunity to see the stars up close on the Red Carpet from a special viewing area, plus a Reserved Seat at the Gala Final. Tickets are just $50, priced to encourage the public to participate in the Awards,with the AAA being part of the Singapore Media Festival.

E! Live From The Red Carpet – Asian Academy Creative Awards, will be broadcast live on E! from 6.30pm, then switch to HOOQ to cover all of the awards ceremonies from 7pm.
